Maintenance
Maintenance of the Donsdale community is shared between The Properties of Donsdale Residents Association, the City of Edmonton, EPCOR and the Residents. A summary of the responsibilities are as follows:
The Properties of Donsdale Residents Association
Responsible for the operating costs and maintenance of what are called the “Enhanced Improvements” in the community.
- These are items that the City of Edmonton would not allow the developer to install unless it set up an Association to operate and maintain them going forward.
- The “Enhanced Improvements” include items such as the fountains, pumps, stream courses, timber bridges, gazebo, metal pond and bridge railings, trellis, and the enhanced landscaping in the pond and stream area.
- Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the 3 properties owned by the Association. These are the Dalhousie Entrance Median, the Danbury Entrance Median and the walkway into the pond at 212 Darlington Crescent.
Contact the Association at [email protected] for any maintenance issues.
The areas of enhanced landscaping maintained by the Association are highlighted in red on the map below. All other common areas and all trees, with the exception of the trees on the 3 properties owned by the Association, are maintained by the City of Edmonton.
The areas where the Association is responsible for snow clearing are highlighted in blue on the map below.

The City of Edmonton
Responsible for the maintenance of all the community areas and landscaping that are not part of the Donsdale “Enhanced Improvements”; just as they are in any other community, including:
- trees,
- pathways and sidewalks,
- pond and stream area lighting,
- turf and shrubs outside of the pond and stream area,
- roads,
- and street lighting.
Contact the City of Edmonton at 311 or with the “Edmonton 311” app for any maintenance issues.
EPCOR
Responsible for maintaining:
- The integrity of the stormwater pond, and
- The Low Impact Development (LID) implemented along the north stream course in 2024. This consists of the Nature’s Turf and Ornamental Sedge grass plantings.
Contact the City of Edmonton at 311 or with the “Edmonton 311” app for any general stormwater pond issues.
Contact EPCOR at 780-412-4200 for any Low Impact Development issues.
Residents
Each resident is responsible for maintaining their property as per City of Edmonton bylaws (e.g.
sidewalk snow clearing) and the Properties of Donsdale Design Guidelines and Restrictive
Covenant (e.g. roofing material and fence design).
While each resident owns and is responsible for the maintenance of the fences on their
property, the Association has generally maintained the bottom outer boards and stained the
outer faces of neighbourhood fences to maintain the overall appearance of the neighbourhood.
If you require stain for your fence, the exact colour match to what is used on all our fences can
be purchased from Cloverdale Paints at 17811-107 Avenue NW Edmonton. Ask for “Donsdale
Pewter” or “Donsdale Grey” (they are equivalent).
